Monsuru was arrested on Wednesday, the third day of the promotion exam organised by the FCT Civil Service Commission at the National Open University of Nigeria, where the exam was held.
Security personnel deployed on the orders of FCT Minister Nyesom Wike to monitor the exam caught him.
A statement by the minister's spokesperson, Lere Olayinka, said Monsuru told the security operatives that his father was sick but was on the university premises.
He reportedly admitted that his father asked him to write the exam for him.
When asked about his father's age, Monsuru said he was between 67 and 68 years old. But Musa Mohammed told the authorities he would turn 60 in February 2027.
