U.K. Conservative Party leader Kemi Badenoch has criticised Reform U.K. MPs for questioning the identity and Englishness of people from ethnic minority backgrounds.

She said she does not want to live in a country where journalists are threatened, veterans are called traitors, or people argue over whether her mixed-race children are English.

Badenoch said she does not want to explain to her son, while they watch the England team play, that some people do not think the black players are English.

She recalled Ian Wright and John Barnes and said nobody questioned their Englishness back then, and there were no sitting MPs doing so.

She warned that such views are trying to drag the country backwards and do not reflect the Britain she believes in.

She also accused Reform MPs of openly questioning who people are, saying they are different from the Conservative Party and the two sides are not alike.
