The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, will start displaying the preliminary register of voters across Plateau State from Friday, October 9, ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The exercise will also let registered voters make claims and objections and collect their Permanent Voter Cards, PVCs.

The display lets voters check their details and raise objections before the final register is put together.

It is also expected to help find errors or missing information in voters records.

The Resident Electoral Commissioner in the state, Prof. Sam Egwu, shared this in a statement in Jos on Thursday.

He said the exercise follows Section 19(1) of the Electoral Act 2026, which says the register must be displayed at least 90 days before a general election.

According to him, the display, hearing of claims and objections and PVC collection will all happen together in all 207 Registration Areas in the state.

It runs from October 9 to 15, 2026, for seven days including weekends, from 9am to 3pm daily.

Egwu urged registered voters to check their names, photographs, dates of birth, polling units and other details and correct any mistakes within this period, since an accurate register is key to free and credible elections.

He added that PVCs from the first phase of the Continuous Voter Registration, held between August 18 and December 10, 2025, will also be ready for collection.

They will be given out at the Registration Area level during the display and later moved to the Local Government Area level.

He said your PVC is your power.
