A security operation in Zamfara has prevented a possible disaster on a busy road.

Soldiers from Operation Fansan Yamma found two explosives planted on the Magami–Hannutara–Dansadau road in Maru Local Government Area of Zamfara State.
The find came after a tip that bombs had been placed along the route.
Troops from Sector 2 secured the area and searched it.
They found the two spots where the devices had been hidden and called in an Explosive Ordnance Disposal team.
The team destroyed one bomb and safely removed the other.
Security analyst Zagazola Makama shared the details.
The army says the quick action stopped what could have been a serious attack on drivers and other road users.
Patrols on the road have now been stepped up to keep travellers and nearby communities safe.
The army is also asking people to stay alert and report any strange objects or suspicious activity to the nearest security post.
