A routine moment on a busy road in Akure turned deadly, leaving witnesses in shock and raising questions about what really happened.

A vehicle inspection officer has died after a truck crushed him on Hospital Road in Akure, Ondo State.
The accident happened opposite Mega Primary School.
The officer has not yet been named.
Akure radio station Crest FM shared a video of the scene on Friday.
People can be heard shouting as a crowd gathers around the truck.
Some of the officer's colleagues were also seen panicking as it happened.
Witnesses say the officer tried to stop the truck, which was already in the fast lane.
He could not stop it in time.
The truck hit him and he was trapped under the trailer.
It is not yet clear why he tried to stop the truck or what led to the crash.
