Human rights activist Abba Hikima, national coordinator of the Tinubu Must Go movement, says he is taking back the support he planned to give some APC aspirants.
He made the announcement on his online page on Monday.
He said the decision came after he noticed some aspirants seemed happy about how people were being mistreated and were backing leaders who oppress them.
He did not name the aspirants.
Hikima also warned that anyone who supports leaders accused of oppressing people in their community should be held accountable.
He called such people enemies.
He had earlier backed Kano Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, even though he is an APC member.
This new move shows a change in his stance toward some party aspirants.
The announcement follows a clash between his movement and the Kano State Police Command.
The group said police stopped it from holding a planned gathering in Kano by deploying officers to the venue.
The police denied this and said they were there to provide security for the event.
