A young corps member’s hopes for national service have ended in tragedy after a deadly crash in Ibadan.

A serving NYSC member, Oluwatosin Abidakun, was killed in a road crash in Ibadan on Monday.
She had recently started her primary assignment at the Oyo State House of Assembly.
She was riding home on a motorcycle with another corps member when an articulated truck hit them near Agodi Gardens in Ibadan North Local Government Area.
She died on the spot.
The other corps member was hurt and is being treated at the University College Hospital, Ibadan.
On Tuesday, Speaker Adebo Ogundoyin said her death is a painful and devastating loss.
He said it is especially sad because she had only just begun her national service.
He sent condolences to her family, friends and colleagues and prayed for the injured corps member to recover quickly.
Eyewitnesses say the truck driver hit several vehicles around Sango before driving on toward Agodi Gardens.
One witness said the driver tried to run away, and angry drivers chased him.
Kehinde Dahunsi, Oyo Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps, confirmed the crash and the death.
