Supporters of former Communications Minister Isa Pantami held a special prayer session in Gombe on Wednesday, after his name was left off INEC's final list of governorship candidates.

The prayers were held at Government Comprehensive Day Secondary School in Gombe metropolis.

The group prayed for justice and for Pantami to be restored as the PDP candidate.

Supporter Ahmed Sani said they have already acted politically and legally, and are now leaving the matter to God.

"Prof. Pantami is our hope for Gombe, and we are confident that justice will prevail," he said.

Pantami's lawyers, Ahmed Raji & Co., have called his exclusion unlawful and gave INEC a three day ultimatum to publish his name.

However, INEC said in a circular on Tuesday that the omission was due to non-compliance with Section 77 of the Electoral Act 2026.
