The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has taken three men to court for pretending to be popular blogger and influencer Tunde Ednut and using his name to steal N18.2 million.
The three suspects are Raymond Charles Yafetus, Auwal Ibrahim and Babangida Yahaya Ibrahim.
They appeared before Justice S. O. Ibrahim at the Federal High Court in Abuja on Thursday, October 15.
They face a three-count charge, including cybercrime, conspiracy to commit fraud, impersonation and obtaining money by false pretence.
The charge says that between April and June 2026, they pretended to be Tunde Ednut, opened bank accounts in his name and collected N18,264,700 from members of the public.
All three pleaded not guilty.
The prosecution asked the court to set a trial date and keep the defendants in custody at Kuje Correctional Centre.
The judge agreed, ordered them to be remanded there and adjourned the case to November 17, 2026.
