Osun State Police have arrested three suspects over the killing of Seun Ajayi, a resident of Ikire.

They are Nurudeen Ademakinwa, 30, Agboluaje Usman, 23, and Awoniran Toheeb, 20.

Police recovered an axe, two double-edged knives and three mobile phones.

Ajayi was attacked at a barbing salon in Oja-Ale, Ikire, on October 3, 2026, at about 6pm.

His companion, who was with him at the salon, escaped.

Police say Ademakinwa was arrested on October 5 with two others after an intelligence-led operation.

Police spokesperson Abiodun Ojelabi also alleged that Ademakinwa sent voice notes threatening residents of Wasinmi community and warning them to leave or face consequences.

He is also accused of involvement in the killing of two passersby during an attack on police officers from the Ikire Division on August 24.

The suspects will be charged in court once investigations are complete.

In a separate case, police arrested Mukaila Adeyemo, 45, over the alleged defilement of a minor in Ikire.

Police say he lured the girl, who is the granddaughter of his friend, to his house in September with a false promise of help buying items.

They say he assaulted her again on October 2, her birthday, taking her from his workshop in Ilupeju to a nearby bush.
