The Jigawa State Hisba Board wants its social media team to put more energy into the fight against indecency and social vices.

Commander General Muhammad Bashir made the call at a one day workshop in Dutse on Tuesday.

He said parents and society are worried about moral decay, especially among young people.

Bashir said the board's main job is to guide and reform people, not just to enforce rules.

He also said accurate reports make the work stronger and that the media is a watchdog for society. Careless posts, he warned, can spread false information and stir up trouble.

The board's spokesperson, Dauda Hadejia, gave new rules.

Zonal and local government commands must get permission before posting any Hisba news, video or audio.

A central platform at headquarters will also be set up, and all news will be checked before it goes online.
