A seven year old boy, Abdullahi Rabi'u, was kidnapped and later killed in the Majema area along Ring Road in Jos North, Plateau State.

Suspects reportedly demanded 2.5 million naira.

His uncle, Sukairaj Danladi Gado, told reporters that the boy was sent on an errand to a neighbour's house on Monday evening and never came back.

The family searched for him without success.

On Tuesday morning, they received a call from an unknown number.

The caller said the boy had been kidnapped and asked for 2.5 million naira.

Gado said the family agreed to pay because they wanted the boy back alive.

They were later told his body had been found.

It was discovered on Tuesday evening in a narrow passage close to their home.

Gado asked the security agencies to investigate and arrest those responsible.

He said the family suspects the people behind it may know the area well.

The Plateau State Police Command had not responded to requests for comment as of Wednesday.
