Kano State Governor Abba Yusuf has promised that Kano residents will back President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 election.

He made the pledge on Wednesday while standing in for the President at the commissioning of a section of the Abuja Kaduna Zaria Kano Highway at Tamburawa, Kano State.

Yusuf said the highway will make travel easier across Northern Nigeria.

He also said many projects by the Tinubu government have not been given enough publicity.

He expects people in Kano and across the country to vote for Tinubu so that these projects can continue.

Works Minister David Umahi said the worst of the economic hardship is over and that the reforms are starting to pay off.

He said the government is finishing projects that were started under the late President Muhammadu Buhari.

He listed road projects in the North, including the Kano Northern Bypass, the Kano Ring Road, the Kano to Kongolam road and the Zaria to Hunkuyi road.

He also said work is underway on the Sokoto Zamfara Zaria road.

Umahi added that close to 400 kilometres of roads have been completed in the North West in three years, and about 4,000 kilometres are still under construction in the region.
