APC governorship candidate Ahmed Galadima has welcomed the move of Adamawa's 21 local government chairmen and 226 councillors from the PDP to the APC.
He said it will strengthen the party's grassroots support ahead of the 2027 general elections.
In a statement issued on Thursday through his media aide, Adamu Sambo, Galadima said the defectors made a wise choice.
He said they understood that the state's future is best served by unity, strong leadership and a shared commitment to development.
He also praised Governor Ahmadu Fintiri for his inclusive leadership and for building bridges across political divides.
Galadima said the governor's engagements have helped the APC's appeal grow in the state.
He tied the defections to President Bola Tinubu's Renewed Hope Agenda.
He said the move could help the party deepen cooperation, improve governance and respond to the needs of the people.
