Cross River State Governor Bassey Otu says President Bola Tinubu put his life on the line for democracy in Nigeria.
He made the claim on Monday at an APC presidential campaign rally in Calabar.
Otu called Tinubu a courageous leader and said history has given him the chance to back a change agent for Cross River, the South South and Nigeria as a whole.
He also praised Tinubu for ending the fuel subsidy, which he said had been exploiting Nigerians.
He listed several things he credits to Tinubu.
These include setting up the South South Development Commission, ending the subsidy, helping children of poor families get into school, and linking Calabar to Lagos by a coastal road.
