Gunmen suspected to be kidnappers abducted a 100 level female student of Plateau State University, Bokkos, on Saturday evening.
Another person was hurt in the attack on off campus student homes in Bokkos Local Government Area.
The incident happened at about 8.40pm.
A student said the victim had gone out with another female student when she was taken.
The student said she has not been seen since.
A university staff member said this is the second such attack in four weeks.
Although it did not happen on campus, he said the school is worried about students living outside.
The university can only house about 1,000 students in its dormitories because of money problems, even though it has about 20,000 students.
The staff member said the school will keep working with authorities to improve housing and security.
The state police spokesperson, Alabo Alfred, did not respond to requests for comment.
