Two visually impaired people were abducted by suspected kidnappers in Riyom Local Government Area of Plateau State while travelling back to Jos from Benue State.
The chairman of the Plateau chapter of the Joint National Association of Persons with Disabilities, Shindol Aaron, confirmed the kidnapping on Tuesday.
Nine people had been chosen to attend a training programme in Benue.
They set off from Jos, but on the way they were told the event had been moved to another day and that they should return to their base.
The kidnapping happened on their way back, at about 8pm on Monday.
Seven of the passengers escaped, while two were taken.
A male and a female are now in the kidnappers' hands.
Aaron said the case has been reported to security agencies, and the driver went to the police station too.
He said he has not spoken to the kidnappers himself, but that someone he knows was contacted and asked for a ransom.
Another association member said the kidnappers want 50 million naira for the two victims.
Police in Plateau are yet to give further report.
