Former Osun State Governor Olagunsoye Oyinlola has said that he is still a PDP member, but will not take orders from Wike.
Oyinlola, a retired general, made the remarks on Wednesday, in a television interview.
Asked if Wike was his leader in the party, Oyinlola said no.
He said he is a PDP member, but Wike is not his leader.
He also said Wike is young enough to be his political subordinate.
When Oyinlola was military governor of Lagos State between 1993 and 1996, Wike was still in school.
Asked if Wike was his boy, Oyinlola said Wike qualifies for that role.
Wike, a PDP member, was appointed FCT minister by President Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress, APC.
He later set up the Rainbow Coalition, a group backing Tinubu's re-election bid in 2027.
Some PDP members have criticised the coalition, saying Wike is working against the party by supporting the president.
Oyinlola, who governed Osun State from 2003 to 2010, blamed the party's crisis on internal forces working against efforts to restore unity.
He said former President Olusegun Obasanjo has been trying to rebuild the party's structure, but some members are blocking the process.
He insisted the PDP can still recover.
He said the party has structures in all 774 local government areas and can regain its strength if members settle their differences.
"The PDP is not dead.
We will bounce back from this, he said.
