Nyesom Wike has denied being involved in a court case that removed Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma as the APC candidate for a senatorial seat and replaced him with former governor Rochas Okorocha.

The Minister Wike has stated that he had noting to do with the court decision that disqualified Hope Uzodimma from runing for the Imo West Senate seat under APC.
The ruling named former governor Rochas Okorocha as the party's nominee for the 2027 election.
Wike called the claims mischievous.
Speaking during a live media chat on Thursday, he said he did not go to court and is not even in the APC.
He said he did not know what the issue was.
Wike also spoke about a warning that Uzodimma reportedly gave a day before the judgment.
Uzodimma was said to have warned that there would be no Rainbow Coalition in Imo State and that he would seize the vehicle of anyone promoting it.
Wike called the threat very uncivilised.
A video of Wike dancing with Okorocha has also been circulating online.
Wike explained that it was filmed when he hosted Okorocha during his time as governor.
The Federal High Court in Abuja delivered the judgment on October 29.
Justice Obiora Egwuatu ruled that Okorocha, not Uzodimma, won the party's senatorial primary held on May 18, 2026.
The judge ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, to replace Uzodimma's name with Okorocha's.
The case was brought by Okorocha, who challenged INEC's decision to recognise Uzodimma as the winner.
The APC in Imo State has rejected the ruling, and Uzodimma has said he plans to appeal.
Some people linked Wike to the case because of his public disagreement with Uzodimma over the Rainbow Coalition.
The coalition is meant to bring politicians from different parties together to back President Bola Tinubu's re-election in 2027.
Under this plan, PDP members can urge their supporters to vote for Tinubu for president while still backing PDP candidates for governor and lawmakers.
On October 29, Okorocha praised the idea in an interview online and said he would set up a similar alliance in Imo State to bring PDP members and others behind Tinubu.
Wike is saying that just because politicians are on the same team, they don’t have to vote for the exact same people in every single election.
He stressed that the top priority is making sure Tinubu wins the election.
