Gov. Ademola Adelekke told the new NYSC members posted to Osun State to love their country, behave well, respect people, and take their job seriously.
Commissioner for Youth Affairs Moshood Olalekan Olagunju spoke on the governor's behalf on Friday.
He gave the charge at the swearing in and opening of the orientation course at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp in Ede.
Adeleke said the posting should be seen as a chance to help grow Osun and Nigeria, not just a duty to be completed.
He praised the NYSC scheme for helping build national unity and responsible citizenship.
He encouraged the corps members to make friends across ethnic, religious and cultural lines.
Reporters stated that he also thanked the NYSC and its members for their conduct during the August 15, 2026 governorship election in Osun.
He said they stayed neutral and professional, and proved that young Nigerians can be trusted with sensitive national work.
The governor promised to keep improving the welfare and security of corps members.
He said the ongoing renovation of the orientation camp in Ede will continue until it becomes one of the best in the country.
NYSC Osun State Coordinator Ekeng Ita Kubiangha said 3,333 prospective corps members had registered for the orientation as of Friday.
Some corps members from Lagos State were also accommodated.
He told the corps members to follow camp rules and respect officials and security personnel.
He warned against cultism, drug abuse, fighting, sexual harassment and leaving the camp without permission.
He said the orientation will prepare them through military drills, physical training, lectures, skills training and entrepreneurship programmes.
Kubiangha thanked the Osun State Government for supporting the camp renovation.
Ademola also told them to keep an eye out of danger and be careful about what they post online.
