It was all screams of joy as people trooped to welcome the Minister of State for Petroleum, Dr. Ibe Kachikwu in Delta State to assess work on the ongoing construction of the Nigerian Maritime University.

Vocal Minister of State for Petroleum, Dr. Ibe Kachikwu has finally visited Kurutie, Okerenkoko community in Delta State for an on the spot assessment of the ongoing construction of the Nigerian Maritime University.

The minister arrived and was greeted by many people. He was said to have arrived without Soldiers, Police and SSS.

The visit to Kurutie, the site of the institution, came barely four days after both Kachikwu and Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, openly disagreed over the propriety or otherwise of the institution.

He had corrected Ameachi over insinuations that the government will not continue with the construction of the university as he noted it was myopic and unreasonable to think so.
