The attention of the Federal and State Governments has been called to the deplorable state of the Ikom-Calabar highway in Cross River state.

This is the sorry state of Ikom-Calabar highway at Akpet Central Village in Cross River state. The road which has been badly affected due to heavy downpour caused obstruction for road users and motorists for four straight days.
The road was finally cleared by officials of the Federal Road Safety Corps on Thursday (yesterday). An eyewitness said a fuel tanker which fell due to the delapitated status of the road spilled its contents with local scooping fuel from the mud.
