Some bandits have reportedly kidnapped Madam Martha Binabo, the wife of former acting governor of Bayelsa state and currently House of Reps member, Nestor Binabo without a word from them so far.
The trend of kidnapping in Nigeria seems far from coming to a halt as another case of abduction occurred on the 29th of June, Monday, Agbura community in the outskirts of Yenagoa the state capital.
The victim was a 48-year old woman, Madam Martha Binabo who is the wife of the former Acting Governor of Bayelsa state, Nestor Binabo. Her husband who is currently in government serves as House of Representatives member.
According to Vanguard, She was seized by a group of gunmen numbering 5 in the front of her company where she serves as a director. They were reportedly dressed as Soldiers. The ill-ftaed event took place at 11:30am during which the gunmen posing as representatives of the Joint Task Force lured her to their vehicle with the claim that their commander wanted to have a word with her.
According to the source;
“Two of the gunmen alighted from the vehicle and accosted the woman. They told her that they were sent by the Commander, Joint Task Force (JTF), Operation Pulo Shield to bring her to JTF headquarters.
“The workers of the woman did not raise any alarm as the bandits forced the woman into their vehicle and zoomed off. They fired no bullet before whisking her away,” the source who pleaded anonymity told The Nation.
The criminals were said to have abandoned and set ablaze their car by the water side. After that the gunmen escaped into the creek in a waiting speedboat with their victim.
There was no word or ransome from the kidnappers as at the time of filing this report.
