A 32 year old man in Jigawa has been arrested for allegedly impregnating a 14 year old girl.
The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) forces in Jigawa State has arrested a 32 year old man for allegedly having sexual relationship with and impregnating a 14-year-old girl.
The Commandant of the corps in the state, Muhammad Gidado, said the suspect, who is a resident of Kanti Quarters in Katoge village, was arrested in Kazaure Local Government Area, had confessed to sleeping with the minor several times, resulting in the pregnancy.
"The Jigawa Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps has arrested a 32-year-old man for raping and impregnating a 14-year-old girl in Kazaure Local Government Area.
"The matter was reported by the mother of the victim to the men of the corps operating in the area. When the suspect was invited and interrogated, he confessed to having canal knowledge of the girl many times", Gidado said.
Gidado said a clinical test conducted showed that the victim was carrying a four-month-old pregnancy.
