Newly Retired IGP of Police, Solomon Arase Accused of Corruption...See Details

60-year old Solomon Arase who has ceremoniously left the Nigeria Police Force after 35 years of service has been accused to favouritism in the promotion of junior officers by a Nigerian lawmaker.

 
Senator Isah Misau representing Bauchi Central Senatorial District told the senate today, 21st of June, 2016 that outgoing Inspector General of Police, Arase promoted a lot of junior officers above their due rank which according to him is 'corruption'.
 
This was revealed via the official Twitter handle of the Nigerian Senate. Arase is yet to make comment on the allegation leveled against him by the lawmaker.
 
Meanwhile, President Muhammadu Buhari has appointed Ibrahim Kpotum Idris, a former Kano State Police Commissioner, as the new acting Inspector-General of the Nigerian Police Force.
