Ali Modu Sheriff has alleged that some opposing PDP chieftains have contracted some Fulani herdsmen to assassinate one of his supporters in the party.

Claimant to the office of the national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Senator Ali Modu Sheriff yesterday rekindled old rivalry between the Fulanis and Kanuris, as he alleged that his opponents sent Fulani herdsmen to kill former secretary of the party, Prof Wale Oladipo, over the leadership crisis in the party.
Modu Sheriff is a Kanuri from Borno, Nigerian Pilot reports.
This is coming as he disagreed with the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, in its duly supervised last Monday PDP governorship election in Edo State.
Sheriff has been accused of being in a secret alliance with the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC to decimate the party against the 2019 general elections.
