Lionel Messi is facing serious pressure from his fans to emerge from retirement as Argentina frantically tries to bring him back.
Horacio Rodriguez Larreta, the Mayor of Buenos Aires, the capital of Argentina, unveiled a Lionel Messi Statue on Tuesday.
The statue unveiling was a part of it's ‘Don’t Leave’ campaign to tempt Messi to reconsider his decision after the Argentina captain called it quits with the national team.
Argentina President Mauricio Macri said he had spoken by telephone with Messi after he announced his shocking retirement and was hoping to change his mind.
