Italian giants AC Milan football club have terminated the contract of Ghanaian midfielder, Sulley Muntari who has been deemed surplus to requirements ahead of the new season.
According to the official press release by AC Milan football club, the contract of the club's midfielder Sulley Muntari has been terminated by mutual agreement. The Ghanaian midfielder who is 30 years old spent 3 seasons at the club after making a switch from the club's arch rivals Inter Milan in 2012 at the expiration of his contract.
Muntari's trying times started at the club when he was placed on the bench under the past AC Milan coach, Filippo Inzaghi last season. He only appeared for the club just 6 times in the year 2015. With the new coach Sinisa Mihajlovic deeming him surplus to requirements ahead of 2015-16, he had to be shown the exit door.
"Sulley Muntari and AC Milan announce that they have mutually resolved to terminate the sporting contract that bound them,” the Italian club said in an official statement that was released on Tuesday. “AC Milan would like to thank Muntari for the commitment, devotion and professionalism he demonstrated when wearing the Milan shirt."
