A popular lawmaker representing Oorelope constituency in the Oyo state house of assembly, has been killed.

A family source has exclusively confirmed to
TheCable News that the lawmaker representing Oorelope constituency in the Oyo state house of assembly, Gideon Aremu, has been killed in an unfortunate incident in the late hours of Friday.
The source said Aremu’s assailant trailed him to his Alakia residence in the Egbeda local government area of the state, before opening fire on him.
Adekunle Ajisebutu, spokesman of the Oyo police command, confirmed the incident, saying investigation is ongoing. “I can confirm that the incident happened late yesterday, and the police have swung into action,” he said.
