FC Barcelona Football Academy in Lagos has finally come to fruition as the launching event has taken place.
FC Barcelona Football Academy in Lagos has been launched after a successful event that showcased Nigerian and foreign representatives.
Governor Akinwunmi Ambode of Lagos State had earlier spoken on the move by the European club to invest in Africa, Nigeria.
Th All Progressives Congress chieftain spoke at the Lagos House, Alausa on the 22nd of February, 2016 while receiving the senior management staff of the football club, said he was delighted with the development.
He said it was in synchronised with his administration’s philosophy for sports development. Ambode also pledged maximum support of the government in ensuring the successful take off of the project.
He described the development as a historic moment for the state, saying it was indeed a thing of joy coming at a time when the government was still basking in the euphoria of the successful hosting of an international marathon.
