Former Benue Governor, Suswam, in London Jail For Beating Wife Over Mistress

Former governor of Benue state, Gabriel Suswam, has allegedly been arrested by the police in London for physically assaulting his wife.

The former Benue state governor Gabriel Suswam has been arrested by the Metropolitan Police in the United Kingdom for allegedly battering his wife.
 
After his arrest, the Metropolitan Police Domestic Violence Office immediately booked him into its London detention centre, where he was to remain in detention.
 
The resident judge at the time however set a £5,000 (N1.5 m) bail bound for him before he was released.
 
He got arrested when his wife, Yemisi placed an emergency call to the police from their house in London to report that the ex-governor had physically assaulted her.
 
She explained to the police that during a minor argument in which she confronted her husband’s questionable relationship with possible mistress ‘Shidoo’, Suswam battered her and thus made her to run for her life.
