A 37 year old man named Ozo, has been arraigned in a Lagos court for raping a neighbor's 13 year old daughter.
A 37 year old man named Obiorah Ozo, residing at No.1, Ogungbesan Street, Coker, Orile, Lagos State, was on Tuesday, June 30, charged before a Yaba Chief Magistrate Court in the state for raping his neighbour's 13 year old daughter.
The prosecutor, ASP Godwin Anyanwu, told the court that Ozo, the accused committed the act on June 19 at the same address and is facing a two-count charge of defilement and assault.
Anyanwu narrated that on the day of the incident, the accused had cornered the girl on the staircase in the compound, covered her mouth with his hands and dragged her to a bathroom where he sexually assaulted her.
The prosecutor further said that it was after Ozo had the forceful sexual intercourse with the girl, he hit her head on the wall and locked her in the bathroom where she was found.
Ozo pleaded not guilty when the charges were read to him and Chief Magistrate A.O. Isholadoye, granted him bail in the sum of N200,000 and adjourned the case till August 10 for mention.
