An Indian man suffered severe burns on his left eye and ears as his phone allegedly exploded while he tried to make a quick call.
An India man named Bhavesh Thummer has suffered severe burns on his left eye and ear as well as a part of his chest when his mobile phone exploded in his face.
According to reports, the victim, a professional diamond polisher, was trying to make a brief phone call when the unexpected explosion took place. His left eye and ear are severely affected with a huge bandage now covering his left eye.
Narrating the unbelievable experience, Bhavesh Thummer claimed he held the phone close to his ears to make a call and incidentally he felt an extreme rise in the temperature of the phone. This prompted him to drop it on a desk. As it landed on the desk, it caught fire. The desk remains damaged including some piles of papers around it.
Thummer was rushed to a nearby hospital as he required immediate medical attention.
Investigations by health and safety experts have been launched to unravel the major cause of this dangerous incident. The phone has been taken away by investigators, where it is expected to be tested.
