Mysterious Man Mistaken For A Terrorist Causes Panic In Anambra

Since rumours of the Federal Government transferring Boko haram inmates to a prison facility in Anambra, the indigenes of the eastern state have been living in fear. Of recent, the presence of a mysterious man carrying a bag suspected to be explosive caused a major panic.

 
A scary incident happened at Nkpor junction in Idemili North Local Government Area of Anambra state, when an unknown man showed up carrying a bag suspected to be containing explosives.

People out of fear that he could possibly be a Boko Haram member carrying a bomb started running away in fear. The news went agog in Anambra like wild fire thereby intensifying the panic.

According to an eyewitness, on Tuesday evening a passer-by, who noticed the man became uncomfortable with the stranger’s behaviour, alerting the personnel of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps about possible impending terrorist attack.

The armed men quickly cordoned off the area while terrified inhabitants ran for cover. The news about the possible terrorist threat quickly spread the area, and local shop owners closed their venues and ran away from the scene.

The suspicious man confronted the officers, who tried to arrest him, and punched one of them. However, they eventually managed to overpower him, but after searching his bag they didn’t find anything more than some nails and a lighter.
 
The panic was said to have been precipitated by of the rumours that the Federal Government had brought 47 Boko Haram prisoners to Ekwulobia prison at midnight of Sunday, June 28,

According to an NSCDC official, the stranger has been arrested for interrogation.
