Angry and battle ready Owerri women have trooped out to protest the decision of Imo State governor Rochas Okorocha to relocate the Ekeukwu market in Owerri.

Angry women in Owerri, Imo state have taken to the street to protest against the decision of Governor Rochas Okorocha to relocate Ekeukwu market to the newly secured Imo modern market along Egbeada layout within the state capital. 
 
 
It was also gathered that officials of the Imo State government has met with the Eke-Ukwu market traders and artisans to discuss the ongoing relocation of the market as the protest raged.
 
 
According to Channels TV, the Governor spoke with traders, artisans and various market associations at a meeting at the Imo International Conference Center in Owerri, the Imo state capital.
 
 
After several hours of meeting, the Governor insisted on the relocation of the market and gave the occupants three weeks to vacate and move to the new site which has been allocated and under construction.
