Globacom has again taken endorsement deals a notch higher with reports the telecommunications giant is set to unveil at an event, the brand ambassadors on its platform - 28 in all.
Leading telecommunications company, Globacom, is reportedly set to unveil the 28 super star entertainers it has on its payroll as brand ambassadors any moment from now.
The list comprises nine new ambassadors and 19 existing ones, whose contracts were recently renewed.
In what could be considered the biggest endorsement deal by any corporate organisation in Nigeria, Glo picked its ambassadors from the film, comedy and music industries.
Sources familiar with the deal say the new Glo ambassadors are: Star Boy, Wizkid, notable comedians Ayo Makun (AY) and Bovi Ugboma, award-winning actor OC Ukeje, Patience Ozokwo (Mama G), Odunlade Adekola, and the Mavin Records’ trio of Koredo Bello, Reekado Banks and Hadizah Blell (Di'ja).
So far, Wizkid, Odunlade Adekola and the Mavin trio have been unveiled.
The 19 ambassadors whose contracts were reportedly renewed include music superstars D’Banj, PSquare, Flavour, M.I Abaga, Wande Coal, Omawumi Megbele, Bez Idakula, Burna Boy, Ego Ogbaro, Sammie Okposo and Sani Danja.
Others are comedian Basketmouth, actresses Ini Edo, Funke Akindele and Helen Paul. The rest are Ime Bishop Umoh, John Okafor (Mr. Ibu), Chiwetalu Agu and popular newscaster, Bimbo Oloyede. Rappers Lynxxx and Naeto C's contracts were not renewed.
Although the financial details of the deal is kept under wraps, it is believed to be worth several millions of Naira.
