A young man is being made to pay for his dastardly acts after he was said to have r*ped a young girl.
The young man identified as one Friday Ibe allegedky r*ped a 10-year-old girl.
The 23-year-old girl consequently arraigned by the police on Tuesday before Evboriaria Magistrates’ Court for committing the act.
According to Vanguard, the Prosecutor, Sgt. Thomas Ojo, told the Court that the accused committed the offence on Aug. 6, 2015, at 4p.m. at No. 107, Igun St., off East Circular road in Benin.
He said that the accused unlawfully had sexual intercourse with the girl against her wish.
He said that the offence contravened Section 31 (2) of the child Right Act, 2003. The accused however pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The Magistrate Mrs J.O. Ejale granted the accused bail in sum of N100, 000 with a surety in like sum who must be gainfully employed and adjourned the case till Aug. 4, for hearing.
