This animal was killed by unknown people in one of the riverine areas of Yenagoa, Bayelsa State with zoologists struggling to find a name for it.
The rare aquatic animal
A social media user based in the South-south part of the country has shared the picture of an uncommon aquatic animal which shares a striking resemblance with a fish and an alligator.
The news poster who pondered on the name of the strange animal caught in the Bayelsa creeks has this to say:
"Its a weird looking fish with the mouth of an alligator.. Actually spent time searching for the name of the fish online but came up with nothing.. Who has any idea what it is called?"
