A woman has gone missing after kidnappers invaded her house in Ikorodu area of Lagos state and took her away.
As the people of Ikorodu recover from the shock of the unwanted visitors known as the "Ikorodu robbers" who attacked two banks in the area last week, another crime has been committed in Ikorodu. According to PMNews, kidnappers reportedly attacked a 38-year old house wife named Mrs Gbemisola Bashorun. She is a mother of two and a HND graduate.
She was reportedly abducted in front of her apartment at 5, Basorun Abimbola Street, Agodo-Alara via Odogunyan/Ikorodu on her way from an evening service on Tuesday. The woman was allegedly returning from the church in her car, a Pathfinder SUV with registration number plate KTU 476 CM alongside her kids when four unknown men blocked her car at the entrance of the building.
Gbemisola’s first child, seven-year-old Olumide, was about opening the gate for her mother when the gunmen alighted from the motorcycle and one of them pointed a gun at her and ordered her to the back seat where her five-year-old brother was seated.
Narrating to journalist how her mother was kidnapped, Olumide said her mother who was returning from church noticed that four strange men were trailing her on a motorcycle. She stopped at a neighbour’s shop to report her observation, was assured of her safety, but charged to notify others of de-velopment when she got home.
Olumide said while the discussion was ongoing, the men drove past the Basoruns, which heightened their fear. Their assailants hid somewhere, only to resurface when Olumide alighted from the car to open the gate for her mother.
Olumide said: “The okada came out from nowhere, blocked our car and three of them alighted. One of them pointed a gun at my mother and ordered her to the back seat.
“They threw out my younger brother. While two of them sat with my mother, one took over the driver’s seat and both the car and okada sped off.”
The two children were reportedly dropped while the abductors sat with the victim at the back of the car.
An appeal is hereby being made to the general public who possess any information as regards her whereabout to report to the nearest police station.
