Contrary to reports that he refused to attend the meeting that President Buhari had with other APC House of of Rep members, Speaker Dogara has said that he did not get an invitation to the said meeting.

As against popular reports that Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Yakubu Dogara, refused to honour an invitation to the Wednesday night meeting with the presidency, the speaker has denied receiving any notice of the meeting.
The president, Muhammadu Buhari was scheduled to hold a meeting with the Speaker, and his counterpart, Hon. Femi Gabjabiamila over the crisis caused by the bitter race for the speakership position. It should be noted that Honourable Femi Gbajabiamila was the preferred candidate of the leadership of the APC. Dogara was reportedly absent at the meeting in Aso Villa.
Yakubu Dogara in an official statement by his Special Adviser Media and Public Affairs, Mr. Turaki Adamu Hassan, said he was not invited to any meeting.
The statement read: “Attention of the Office of the Speaker of the House of Representatives has been drawn to some news reports about a purported meeting between Mr. Speaker, the President and some members of the House under the platform of the APC.”
“We wish to make it abundantly clear that there was never a time the Speaker was invited for a meeting with the president on Wednesday July 1, 2015.”
