A notorious kidnapper and armed robber popularly called Spring, who has been terrorizing Ogoniland in Rivers state, has been arrested on Tuesday morning by the Anti-Robbery Squad.

In a statement released by River State Governor’s spokesman, Simeon Nwaka, and obtained by DailyPost, a notorious kidnapper and armed robber popularly called 'Spring', who has been terrorising Ogoniland in Rivers state, was on Tuesday morning, allegedly arrested by the Anti-Robbery Squad of the Nigeria Police Force.
According to reports, Spring is currently being interrogated at the Rivers State Police Command headquarters and has made useful confessions on several criminal activities in Ogoniland, as he is alleged to be responsible for several killings, kidnappings and armed robbery in Ogoniland.
It has been gathered that some influential politicians in the state have stormed the Rivers State Police Command to effect the release of Spring.
“As at press time, several opposition politicians in the state are at the Rivers State Police Command to effect the release of Spring.
“It was gathered that the opposition leaders in Rivers State stormed the Rivers State Police Command in company of a senior police officer from Abuja,” the statement claimed.
When contacted for comments from the state police command, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Nnamdi Omoni said he is not aware of the arrest of one Spring as being reported.
He disclosed that he is “yet to be informed about the arrest of anybody. If such major arrests are made we would have announced it to journalists”.
