A police officer has shot dead a civil servant who was among many others protesting at the Nassarawa State Government House over the review of their salaries.

A police officer has shot one person dead while injuring several others after he shot at protesting Civil servants in Nassarawa state yesterday, July 29th, 2016.
The workers had gathered in front of the state government house to wait for the outcome of the meeting the state Nigerian Labour Congress chapter was having with the state government on the proposed review of their salaries, when a police officer fired shots into the air.
The bullet hit one of the protesting civil servant leaving him dead while others sustained injury as they ran for safety. The police command says they are investigating the matter.
