After months of rumours of what was actually wrong with him, comedian cum musician, Julius D'Genius Agwu has revealed that he had surgery to remove lumps from his brain

Rivers born musicomedian (combination of music and comedy), Julius D'Genius Agwu was ill for some time and while no one could place a finger on what was actually wrong with him, a recent interview with YES INTERNATIONAL! Magazine reveals he had a couple of lumps in his brain.

Opening up to the magazine for the first time on how he survived what was a life-threatening medical condition, the Theatre Arts University of Port Harcourt graduate attributed his survival to divine providence.

"This is just God at work and that is why I will forever thank Him",
he said.

According to D'Genius, he recollected that his problem started with losing weight on an astonishing level until sometime in May, 2015 when he had a seizure at home. Almost lifeless, his wife, Ibiere, who he revealed proved that her love for him was both in sickness and good health, with the assistance of their maid and security man, rushed him to their hospital in Lekki.

The doctor on duty and his team, he was told, battled for hours to bring him back to life again and when he was stable enough to withstand the rigours of traveling, left for Houston, USA, with his wife, where arrangement had been made at the Park Plaza Hospital.

Julius revealed that after a series of tests, two lumps - which Doctors said were responsible for his massive weight loss - were discovered in his brain.

He agreed to a surgical operation to remove them.

For four hours, the surgeons operated on the 'Crack Ya Ribs' exponent on Tuesday, May 12, 2015, at the Park Plaza Hospital.

Upon being discharged, Julius rested in the US for some time before returning home recently.

The father of two, who is currently making arrangements for the 10th anniversary of his annual comedy show 'Crack Ya Ribs' in London, told YES INTERNATIONAL! Magazine that all through his ordeal, all that was on his mind was what would become of his wife and children.

"...I no go lie to you, na dem I just dey think about. But like I said earlier, it's God at work. I want to thank everybody who supported me in one way or the other. Those that were praying for me and all that.

"I'm planning a thanksgiving where I will still tell the full story. But for now, I just want to thank God and my wife. Onyeoma! My wife tried", he acknowledged.

Giving further insight, he said: "The day I had the seizure, she put her finger in my mouth and I bit it…All the vomit; the mess; she was the one brushing and bathing me on the bed and clearing and cleaning them. IB really, really tried for me".
