Fashola Orders Immediate Closure of Apapa-Ijora Bridge...See Reason (Photos)

Former Governor of Lagos State has swiftly moved to repair the Apapa-Ijora Bridge in Lagos with an appeal to stakeholders to bear with the government.

The immediate closure of the strategic Apapa-Ijora Bridge road in Lagos State has been announced by the Federal Government after a meeting was held with concerned parties.
 
Hon Minister of Power, Works & Housing, Mr Babatunde Fashola, SAN announced an emergency repair was which necessitated by the government's bid to ensure the smooth movement of lives and properties in the area.
 
 
Mr Babatunde Fashola, SAN discussed the issue recently with the Lagos State Commissioner for Transportation, Dr Dayo Mobereola, Federal Controller of Works, Engr. Godwin Eke, South West Public Relations Officer of the Petroleum Tanker Drivers (PTD) Branch of the Nigeria Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG), Comrade Tayo Aboyeji, President Association of Maritime Truck Owners (AMATO) ,Chief Remi Ogungbemi and officials of Julius Berger Nigeria Plc.
 
The onus of the meeting was to solicit cooperation on the immediate closure of the  Apapa-Ijora Bridge linking the Apapa Central Business District with Lagos Island in Lagos by the Federal Government for emergency repair works on Sunday 7th August , 2016.
