An angry football player has head-butted a referee and beat him mercilessly for daring to give him a red card during a game.

A referee has been beaten black and blue after he gave a player a red card during a game in the Guatemalan third division between Deportivo Chicacao and Obereños.
During the game in Guatemala, Daniel Pedrosa lost his cool when the referee of the game reached for a card after Pedrosa seemingly bumped into him unintentionally.
Once the official flashed the card in the player's face, Pedrosa viciously headbutted him before he brutally connected with a right hand that left the referee clutching his nose in agony.
As the obviously dismissed Pedrosa was ordered to the dugout by teammates, the injured official struggled to make his way to the sidelines for treatment.
