Chai! Man Arraigned for Allegedly Raping His Own Sister-in-law in Lagos

A man who had enough nerve to s*xually assault his own sister-in-law is being made to face the law.

 
Tijani Ibrahim, a 29-year-old man, has been dagged to court for a heinous crime.
 
The man on Thursday appeared before an Ikeja Chief Magistrates’ Court in Lagos for allegedly r*ping his sister-in-law.
 
According to the News Agency of Nigeria, Ibrahim, who resides at No 5, Yekini St., Off Oniwaya Road, Agege, a Lagos suburb, is facing two-count charge of rape and assault.
 
The Prosecutor, Sgt. Rafael Donny, told the court that the offences were committed on July 13 and July 22, respectively at the accused residence.
 
Donny alleged that the accused r*ped his 17- year-old sister-in-law who lived in his house.
 
“The accused raped the victim on two occasions. One of the days he r*ped the girl was when his wife put to bed.

“After raping the girl, he threatened to deal with her if she told anyone.

“The accused also beat the girl when she attempted to run away from the house as a result of the sexual assault,’’ he said.
 
The prosecutor said that the offences contravened Sections 168 and 259 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.
 
The accused, however, pleaded not guilty.
 
The Chief Magistrate, Mr Tajudeen Elias, granted the accused bail in the sum of N100, 000 with two sureties in like sum.
 
Elias adjourned the case to Oct. 6 for the advice from the office of the Director for Public Prosecution.
