Two Nigerians have bagged a life-time imprisonment in Qatar after they reportedly broke into the house of a Lebanese expatriate who they robbed of his money and other belongings after beating him till he lost consciousness.

According to local Arabic daily Arrayah, two Nigerians found guilty of burglary and attempted murder have been imprisoned for life by  a Doha Criminal Court in Qatar. A Filipina who was charged as an accomplice got a lengthy jail term of 22 years. The convicts will be deported after the completion of thir long jail terms.

The court also ordered the convicts to make a refund of a sum of QR29,684 which they robbed their victim of.

According to sources, the crime kicked off when the maid who once served the Lebanese expatriate and his family met one of the two Nigerians on the internet. After a level of acquintance, they both struck a deal to rob the family. The maid provided the house key for the Nigerians and also made her own copy.

The Nigerians gained access to the house on the set day. They reportedly flogged the Lebanese expatriate with sticks on his head till he lost consciousness. They then made away with his belongings and his ATM from which they withdrew money. The victim laid almost close to death and it took the intervention of a friend who, out of futile efforts to reach him on phone decided to pay him a visit, to revive him.

The friend and the police helped rush him to the hospital for treatment.
