Rampaging Fulani herdsmen in the northern part of Nigeria have killed about 6 farmers in a brutal attack.

Six farmers were reportedly killed in Godogodo village of Jemaa local government of Kaduna State on Saturday.

The incident happened two weeks after 11 persons were killed by suspected herdsmen in three villages including Gododogo in an early morning raid, DailyTrust.

Some of the villagers, who spoke with newsmen in Kaduna, said the six killed went out as a group to their farms when they were attacked.

“We were told that armed Fulani men had attacked them on their farms, and a few escaped, some with bullet wounds. A search party on Sunday found them ridden with bullets and machete cuts and they were all dead,”
said the source.

The names of those killed were given as Monday Hamza, 24, married with 3 children; Toma Masara, 35, married with 3 children and Chaka (Waje) Rubutu 26years, married with 4 children, Linus (Golkofa) 20, married with 2 children; Julius (Golkofa) 19, married with a child; Boboo Okocha 18years, single and Sambo (Golkofa) 17, single.

Chairman, Kaduna State chapter of Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN), Dr. Haruna Usman when contacted, said he was not aware there was an attack by herdsmen on Godogodo.

Dr. Usman said he is however aware that there was a conflict between some farmers and herdsmen in Godogodo on June 26, where one of the herdsmen injured a farmer and the youths of the village mobilised the next day and went and burnt down the Fulani settlement in the area.
