A father has left many hearts grieving and shocked after doing a most unbelievable thing to the son sending shivers through his community.
A Mainichi man in Nagoya, central Japan, has done the unthinkable after becoming dissatisfied with his son's studying habit.
The irate man stabbed his 12-year-old son to death for not studying. After committing the crime, the man told police that he was dissatisfied with his son's attitude to studying ahead of an entrance examination, investigative sources said Tuesday.
"I stabbed him as he did not study," Kengo Satake, a 48-year-old truck driver, was quoted by the police as saying, after the death of Ryota, a sixth- and final-year elementary school student.
The Mainichi reports that Satake wanted his son to pass the entrance examination for the same private junior high school in Nagoya, Aichi Prefecture that he graduated from, the sources said.
Satake is suspected of stabbing the victim in the chest with a kitchen knife around 10 a.m. on Sunday at their apartment. The boy was confirmed dead from loss of blood about one hour later.
The police have sent the case to prosecutors on a charge of murder.
