United Bank for Africa and Access Bank have been rated by industry analysts as Nigeria's most attractive banks.
According to analysts at FBN Capital, there is a possible recovery in the performance of Nigerian banks despite the discouraging forecast for the nation’s banking sector in the second half of the year 2015.
The analysts said Stanbic IBTC will show a rebound in profits from a depressed first quarter 2015.
They also posit that two banks, Access Bank and United Bank for Africa (UBA) currently traversing the tier 1 versus 2 divide are the most attractive in the sector.
This was contained in the 2015 second quarter result preview released last weekend.
They added that with good results for a number of Nigerian banks in first quarter 2015, they expect a high degree of normalization in their second quarter 2015.
